In my way of rebuilding the internet I interpreted as a spider building a web. I did this simply because a spider’s web starts out small and it works its way up to build a bigger and stronger web. It takes time for a spider to build a powerful and strong web but in the end its helpful. A mother spider builds a home for her kids to be kept for safety, this goes with how my mom protected us growing up with the web. When I was born in 2004 the web wasn’t much of anything I mostly played games and watched YouTube now the web has grown so much that I use it in my everyday activities. The internet is a global network providing a variety of information and communication. It connects all technology all over the world. The internet works in many different ways you have to figure out how to use it before you can understand what it is. You have to gather information about every app you see to understand how to use it. The internet lives around everything in today’s world it is one of the most used artifacts as we speak. Everyone in the world lives in it, you live in it because your house is basically the web, your house wouldn’t have been made if constructors didn’t build it. They wouldn’t understand how to build it if it wasn’t for the internet and the research they use. The internet is used for looking up information, communicating, taking pictures, etc. If you want to make a career the internet is where you would go just to research about other careers. We interact with video conferencing, email, social media, etc.
Artist Statement: To summarize my idea of rebuilding the internet think of it like this. A spider’s web starts out with gathering materials, building the web then the web comes together and builds a big powerful web just like the internet it starts out small then progressively expands over the years.
